Description
Shallows. Rocky-bottom rivers. Shoals. White-water rapids. They'd all prove treacherous for a propeller-driven outboard, but Yamaha's Jet Drive outboards are all about it. You can "off-road" without the possibility of breaking a blade on rocks or other underwater obstructions. So while you may be giving up the prop, you're gaining a whole lot of freedom with a jet drive.
Yamaha's 2.7-liter F150 Jet Drive outboard produces 105 hp at the pump. It features a DOHC, 16-valve design with four valves per cylinder and long tube intake tracks, which produces ample power for navigating shallow, rocky water. It fits 25-inch transom boats and comes with Power Trim & Tilt and a solid 35-amp alternator.
With no gearcase or propeller extending below the hull, a jet drive lets you maneuver around or pass over obstructions that would limit the travel of a conventional propeller-driven outboard. Electronic multi-point fuel injection gives you responsive power with fuel-sipping efficiency.
